Letterbox Love 2

From now on, I’ve decided to take part in Letterbox Love, a weekly meme to showcase your newest books set up by a group of UK bloggers and hosted by Narratively Speaking. I thought this seemed like a fantastic opportunity to get to know some of my fellow UK bloggers a bit better.

There’s also Showcase Sunday, hosted by Books, Biscuits and Tea and also Stacking the Shelves over at Tynga’s Reviews which I’ll doubtless check out as well.

I’ve got a lot of great books to share with you all – unusually for me, a lot of them are for my Kindle. The reason there’s so many is because I had some gifted to me by Jo. I also haven’t logged on to NetGalley for a couple of months and had quite a few books I had forgotten all about ready to download. Including one I was literally about to pre-order!  I think I may need to do another NetGalley month to catch up on them all.

Book Review: Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson

 

‘Amy Curry’s year sucks. And it’s not getting any better. Her mother has decided to move, so somehow Amy has to get their car from California to the East Coast. There’s just one problem: since her father’s death Amy hasn’t been able to get behind the wheel of a car. Enter Roger, the son of a family friend, who turns out to be funny, nice… and unexpectedly cute. 

But Roger’s plans involve a more ‘scenic’ route than just driving from A to B, so suddenly Amy finds herself on the road trip of a lifetime. And, as she grows closer to Roger, Amy starts to realize that sometimes you have to get lost to find your way home…’

I LOVED Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour (and no, not just cause the main character had the same name as me!)

Everyone seemed to be excited about this book – and for good reason – as its one of the best books I’ve read this year, certainly one of the best contemporary YA I’ve ever read. Continue reading
